Our Story

Welcome to Ancarraig

Three generations of looking after this land and the people who visit.

How This Place Came to Be

Ancarraig sits on 12 acres of woodland above Loch Ness. It started as a family retreat and has grown into something more substantial, but it's still family-run.

Three generations have looked after this land. We've tried to preserve what was here while building lodges that work for modern visitors—Scandinavian design with Highland character.

We now have 12 lodges. Families, couples, solo travelers—people come here to slow down and disconnect properly.

Our Values

What Matters to Us

These are the things we care about—how we run the place, how we treat guests, how we look after the land.

Sustainability

The natural beauty here is what makes Ancarraig worth visiting. We use renewable energy where we can and try to tread lightly.

Highland Hospitality

Scottish warmth, Nordic simplicity. Hospitality that feels genuine, not scripted.

Excellence

We care about the details. Good furnishings, proper maintenance, cleanliness you can count on.

Family Values

Three generations have looked after this place. We know most of our guests by name, and many come back year after year.

Home Away from Home

The lodges are designed to feel like homes, not hotel rooms. Somewhere you can actually relax.

Attention to Detail

Welcome hampers, local recommendations, questions answered quickly. The small things that make a difference.
